How To Maintain and Keep Your Slipcovers Clean
If you’re on a budget, or just looking to redecorate quickly, slipcovers are the next best thing to buying new furniture for your home. Besides, when your furniture becomes stained or begins to show a little wear and tear, it is not always feasible to purchase new furniture. Thus, fitted slipcovers are a great choice in maintaining the beauty of your furniture – not to mention keeping off dirt, dust, and preventing stains from getting on the original material.

You should also use a vacuum cleaner on a regular basis to remove any dust from the slipcover. Keeping the slipcovers dust-free will help minimize the accumulation of bacteria and various allergens. However, if you really want to make sure the cleaning is thorough; it's not a bad idea to remove the slipcover and shake off the dirt and dust that may be lingering. When vacuuming, it's better to use a small hand-held device for best results.

But, before you go full force with washing your slipcovers, if it gives you piece of mind, test to see how the cleanser will work with the fabric. We recommend using a mild detergent. Clean a sample on a portion of the fabric that is not visible. If the results are to your liking, don’t hesitate to clean the rest of the fabric.

All of Stretch and Cover’s slipcovers have stain resistant treatments and with the exception of the faux leather can be machine washed to remove everyday stains and dirt. All of our fabrics are continuously tested for shrinkage, strength, color fastness, color consistency and other factors to ensure that you receive quality fabrics that are easy to care for. Care instructions come with your purchase.

With the exception of leather slipcovers, you can easily remove the slipcover to throw in the machine. We recommend a commercial or front load washer. Wash in cold water, gentle cycle. We recommend a mild detergent like an Ivory Snow or Dreft. If it's gentle enough for your baby, it's gentle enough for your slipcover. We do NOT recommend using bleach. Depending on the fabric, either line dry or tumble dry on a low setting. After washing and drying, you can easily put the slipcover back on to your furniture. Placing the slipcover back on your furniture should take approximately five to ten minutes.

With leather slipcovers, just spritz water and wipe dry with a clean soft cloth. Or if you prefer, use leather cleaner to keep your slipcovers conditioned and supple looking.

Just imagine the improvement in your and your family's attitude if no one worries about messing up the furniture. No need to worry about spills, dirt, or pet hair. Go about your daily life with furniture you can live with worry and stress free to complement your lifestyle. No need to be afraid of whites or light colors - removing dirt and stains from these slipcovers is easy.
